Quality Institutional Care and Alternatives for Children (QIC&AC) Delhi is an Advocacy initiative of groups, individuals and organisations working on child right to protection issues in Delhi.
Quality institutional childcare is not possible without having high standards for maintenance of the physical environment and care taking arrangements at the institutions as they go a long way in enhancing the growth & development of the child being cared for in the institution.But QIC & AC Delhi strongly believes that institutional care is the last resort for the wellbeing of a child and there fore it encourages other alternatives like adoption, Foster Care etc for betterment of the child.
The QIC&AC Delhi is working on the following aspects;
1.Review for Child related Acts, Policies and Rules
2.Community based rehabilitation programmes / Foster Care / Sponsorship / Community Services / Strengthening family / Mother Programme
3.Development of people’s opinion and concern for the issue of neglected children
4.Quality Indicators for Child protection (Institutional / Non-Institutional / Qualitative as well as Quantitative)
